- Orote Airfield and Apra Harbor were captured by the USA on July 30
- Japanese lines collapsed at Mount Barrigada August 2-4
- Japanese refused to surrender; nearly all of the were killed because of this
- US Marines were awarded the Medal of Honor for their brave work
- Liberation Day is celebrated on Guam every July 21 to mark the USA victory over Japan
- January 24 1972 Sergent Shoichi Yokoi was discovered after hiding out in a cave alone for 27 years
- USA won the victory and took back Guam
- 4 US Marines were awarded the Medal of Honor for their heroic action (PFC Luther Skaggs Jr, PFC Frank Witek, PFC Leonard F. Mason, and Captain Louis H. Wilson Jr)
- Japanese didn't want to surrender at any costs so most of their men were killed
The U.S. attack on Guam by ships during the second Battle of Guam
